What's Next
Should I be blessed with enough of your support to continue representing Muckleshoot for another term, I plan to be available to respond to emerging needs and also have lined up strategies to focus on these initiatives:
Continue to support culturally relevant life ways that strengthen sovereignty for our People.
Advocate for the opportunities coming our way to support our food businesses and self-determination for all Tribal Members. I have done this for our fishers with relief funding and advocating for the Native Farm Bill.
Launch a community-driven project that addresses the need for a butcher shop and utilize my network of experienced professionals.
Keep speaking up, telling our story, and taking
opportunities to
lift each and
every one of
us up.
Developing Our Own Meat Market
There is a movement across Indian Country for Tribes to control their own meat markets and many conversations, strategies and projects are enacted right now in Tribal communities from Montana to Arkansas. It is time to start planning for our own meat market, together. Click on the link to learn more about just one example of the support that is ongoing.
Muckleshoot Mountain to Sound at MTS
One of the most exciting projects I've been working on is the Mountains to Sound Program with Muckleshoot Tribal School.
"In 2020, the Muckleshoot Tribe established a full-time classroom at Crystal, making it the first and only permanent classroom on federal land in the entire country."
